NEW YORK — God’s Love We Deliver will launch its second annual holiday catalog featuring gifts, home accessories, books and beauty products from an array of design firms including Burberry, Giorgio Armani, Carolina Herrera, Tuleh, Lamberston Truex, Narciso Rodriguez, Celine and Badgley Mischka.
The catalog will be mailed at the end of the month to 40,000 people. It’s the biggest fund-raiser yet for the charity and is spearheaded by Blaine Trump.
“It’s really very exciting for us. It’s kind of guilt-free shopping for Christmas,” said Trump. “It was clear to me last year when Burberry did the aprons for us — 500 aprons just flew out — that this was a great idea.”
The 2000 catalog featured Burberry’s famous plaid on an apron, among other items in eight pages. Trump said she wanted to figure out how to build on last year’s success, and enlisted the help of Robert Burke, vice president of fashion merchandising at Bergdorf Goodman, and Lisa Pomerantz, former director of public relations for Celine and now worldwide director of communications for Bottega Veneta.
Some of the items in the catalog are exclusives, such as Burberry’s apron and Lambertson Truex’s red leather dog collar and leash, while others are available in stores, like a Coach leather picture frame and Dior’s mini-saddlebags in denim.
Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka and Tuleh designed one-of-a-kind Christmas stockings that will sell for $85 a piece. Slatkin & Co. even designed a Blaine candle with a cinnamon and cloves scent that will sell for $32. Gucci and Versace are donating Christmas ornaments; Celine plans to launch its fragrance in the catalog, and Marc Jacobs has donated 100 bottles of his new fragrance, Marc. Food gifts are from Serendipity and Black Hound.
The 12-page book was designed by Bergdorf’s creative team. All the proceeds go to GLWD, which will handle fulfillment. The charity hopes to raise $300,000; Its other big fund-raiser, Race to Deliver, was postponed until Nov. 18.
GLWD prepares and delivers nutritious meals free of charge to men, women and children living with AIDS throughout New York City and Hudson County, N.J.
