GO SILK NAMES HOLLAND-NELSON
NEW YORK — Leisa Holland-Nelson has been named president of Go Silk’s women’s division, a new post reporting to Alex Garfield, chairman.
Holland-Nelson has held senior merchandising posts at wholesale and retail operations, including Neiman Marcus, Federated Department Stores, The Leslie Fay Cos. and Evan-Picone. Since 1996, she was a partner in the consumer practice of Heidrick & Struggles, an executive search firm that made placements for clients such as Ann Taylor, Barnes & Noble, Urban Outfitters and Kellwood Co.
Go Silk was relaunched for fall retailing under a licensing deal financed by Garfield and Conrad Lung in a new venture that is separate from their Garfield & Marks business. Garfield said the initial season has received a favorable response, necessitating the position “to manage the strategic focus of our rapid growth.”
