NEW YORK — Jay Levtow, who had been president of Tropical Sportswear International, has been named president of Kellwood’s CLC division, which markets moderate updated career and casual sportswear.
He succeeds Liz Sweney, who was recently named president of women’s apparel at J.C. Penney Co.
Levtow will oversee operations in all CLC product segments, including the Cricket Lane Collection, Components Sportswear and Cape Cod Sportswear.
Levtow, who is based here, reports to Enoch Harding, Kellwood’s executive vice president of operations.
At Tropical Sportswear International, Levtow was responsible for sales, marketing and merchandising of branded and private label business.
Before joining Tropical, Levtow spent nearly 20 years at Koret of California, which last year was acquired by Kellwood. During his tenure at Koret, he held many positions, including president of the company’s Counterparts Sportswear division.
