LAURA WENKE LEAVES ANNE KLEIN
NEW YORK — Laura Wenke, senior vice president of marketing and communications, is out at Anne Klein.
Wenke, who joined Anne Klein in 1997, could not be reached on Friday, but sources said her departure was related to high operating costs related to Kasper ASL Ltd.’s acquisition of Anne Klein last year.
Gregg Marks, president of Kasper, confirmed Wenke’s departure, but declined to comment. He also acknowledged that some Anne Klein production employees had also left the firm, but was unable to provide further details.
Wenke was responsible for advertising, public relations, retail marketing and in-store boutiques for the sportswear company. She previously had her own public relations firm and held marketing posts at Gruppo GFT, Escada and Gianni Versace.
