NEW YORK —, an online store that caters to active women, has signed on as the North American presenting sponsor for the Sanex Women’s Tennis Association tour.
Terms of the agreement were not released, but the deal includes cash and stock, according to a spokeswoman. The e-tailer will post signs at 15 stops on the tour, offer onsite promotions and will spotlight the tour’s players at its “Style Meets Sport” event later this year.’s sponsorship extends through Dec. 31, 2001.
Based in Portland, Ore., and founded in November, offers 70 activewear brands and content for active women of various ages and abilities.
The Sanex WTA Tour features 59 events, including four Grand Slam tournaments in 27 countries. More than 1,000 players compete during the 11-month schedule.
