NEW YORK — Roger Wyett, Nike’s former category business director for ACG South, has been named senior vice president of global apparel at Disney Consumer Products.
Wyett reports to another Nike alumnus, Andrew Mooney, who is president of Disney Consumer Products. In January, Mooney, a 20-year Nike veteran, had stepped down from the giant activewear and athletic footwear maker as vice president of global brand management and vice president of global apparel.
Wyett joined Nike in 1994 and was division merchandise manager before moving on to such other posts as director of team sports, director of U.S. apparel merchandising and director of global apparel.
Replacements for Wyett or Mooney at Nike have not been named yet, a Nike spokeswoman said.
In this newly created post at Disney, Wyett will develop the overall strategy for global apparel and accessories by focusing on management, retail channel strategy development and product development management, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
He will also be working with the company’s international group in order to develop product strategies for markets outside the U.S.
