FIT’S BLUEWEISS SEMINAR TO TACKLE PACE OF CHANGE
NEW YORK — The dizzying pace of change will be the focus of the 11th annual Herbert Blueweiss Key Issues Seminar, to be held April 6 in the Katie Murphy Amphitheatre of the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Moderated by Michael Gould, chairman and chief executive of Bloomingdale’s, the speakers will include Andy Giancamilli, president of U.S. Kmart; Daymond John, chief executive of Fubu; Bill Bass, vice president of international e-commerce of Lands’ End; Nicholas Graham, ceo of Joe Boxer; Jerry Della Famina, ceo of Della Femina-Jeary & Partners, and Margaret Cannella, managing director of Chase Manhattan Bank.
Emanuel Weintraub, president of the consultancy that bears his name, is chairman of the seminar, which is sponsored by CIT Commercial Services, Chase Manhattan Bank and FIT’s Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries.
Titled “Changing of the Guard: It’s Happening, Are You Ready?” the seminar will take up issues ranging from the impact of e-commerce, brand-building in a cluttered marketplace, financing for small and medium businesses and, according to a statement, “how to still have fun in this changing environment.”
Joyce Brown, president of FIT, said each of the speakers “will address important questions, and answers, as to how their companies will lead in this constantly and rapidly changing business world today.”
The seminar begins at 7:30 am with refreshments, and panel presentations at 8:30. Tickets are $200 for first company registrants and $150 for additional tickets. Further information is available from FIT at (212) 217-7820.
