NEW YORK — The Italian Trade Commission and Premiere Vision have jointly announced that Texitalia, the ITC-sponsored textile show that runs twice a year, will now be part of Premiere Vision’s workshop starting in July.
Renamed European Preview, the workshop, which runs July 18 and 19 at the Metropolitan Pavilion here, will feature 150 European exhibitors showing a preview to fall 2001.
“With the addition of exhibitors of Texitalia Club, the show will truly be a European initiative,” said Amy Bergman Bonimi, trade promotions officer for textiles at the ITC.
Laurence Teinturier, the U.S. representative for Premiere Vision added, “With the addition of exhibitors from Texitalia Club, we are going forward with our plan to offer the American designer market an early glimpse of the best that Europe has to offer in terms of fabric.”
A committee will soon be elected, she added, to screen potential exhibitors.
“The mills selected do not have to be exhibitors from PV,” said Teinturier, “but they must show at some European shows.”
She also noted that a fee will not be charged for attendees. However, buyers will have to pre-register in order to ensure quality of buyers at the workshop.
