DANIEL PERES APPOINTED EDITOR IN CHIEF OF DETAILS
NEW YORK — Daniel Peres has been named editor in chief of Details magazine, it was announced today by Fairchild Publications chairman and editorial director Patrick McCarthy.
Peres is currently the European editor of W magazine, sister publication of WWD. He began his career at Fairchild in 1993, when he was hired as associate retail editor at DNR.
He jumped to WWD’s Eye page soon afterwards, and moved over to W as associate editor in 1996. There, he wrote features and supervised the front section of the magazine. In 1998, he was appointed Paris bureau chief of W.
“Dan is the perfect editor to make Details the exciting, provocative magazine young men want,” says McCarthy. “Dan has had a keen vision for fashion and style coverage and is also an accomplished editor and writer himself.
“We’re confident Details will be poised to capture the hearts and minds of men this fall.”
Details will publish its first issue under the Fairchild banner in October 2000.
Peres, 28, was born in Baltimore and is a graduate of New York University.
