NEW YORK — Arthur Weinberger, a veteran of the knitted fabrics industry, died at New York University hospital here on Wednesday after a long illness. He was 71.
Weinberger was owner and president of M.W. Textiles, a synthetic-yarn trading operation that he founded 50 years ago, according to Joe Hillman, corporate secretary of M.W.
Hillman said no decision had yet been made on who would succeed Weinberger, who was also treasurer of the Knitted Textile Association.
Weinberger is survived by his wife, Geri; two sons, Mitchel and David, and a daughter, Jamie Runyon.
Services are scheduled for today at 11:30 a.m. at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue in Manhattan.
