NEW YORK — The Council of Fashion Designers of America will not televise its annual awards ceremony, scheduled for June 15.
While details of this year’s American Fashion Awards are being made final, Fern Mallis, executive director of the CFDA, said the organization was working to ensure the program would be shorter than last year’s event, which lasted several hours and was televised by E! Entertainment Television.
Today is the last day CFDA is accepting ballots for nominations for the awards. Winners will be announced at a press conference at Jean-Georges restaurant here on April 19. “We are considering doing a shorter program, but the decisions will be made at our next board meeting,” Mallis said, noting that will take place on April 18.
