The move by the Seattle cyber-giant follows the announcement on Jan. 24 that and had entered into a strategic alliance to create a health and beauty shopping destination on Amazon’s site.
Since opening its virtual doors in July 1995, Amazon has expanded its assortment from books to offer more than 18 million items in toys, consumer electronics and home improvement as well as videos, CDs, computer software and video games.

When shoppers go to the home page, they can click the “Health & Beauty” button and enter’s storefront, gaining access to’s 20,000 health and beauty products, content and buying guides, and full-service pharmacy.
