NEW YORK — A new intimate apparel Web site,, locked horns with The Warnaco Group, when it told WWD it was selling Warnaco’s golden brand: Calvin Klein Underwear.
Last week, the site featured an abundance of Calvin Klein innerwear, the majority of which was women’s underwear such as bikinis and high-cut briefs. But by Tuesday morning, there wasn’t a Calvin Klein undie remaining on the site.
Asked what happened, a spokeswoman for said, “Basically they [Figleaves] took Calvin Klein underwear off the site, and are negotiating a contract, waiting until everything is signed. Then they can put Calvin Klein underwear back on the site.”
Not so, according to a Warnaco spokeswoman, who said Warnaco had not sold directly to and “had asked the Internet company to remove all Warnaco merchandise” from the site. She would not elaborate.
Two other Warnaco core brands are now also absent from the site: Olga and Warner’s bras.
