BALMAIN NAMES PIERRE GUERIN VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING

PARIS — Just days after announcing the departure of its ready-to-wear designer Gilles Dufour, the house of Pierre Balmain has appointed Pierre Guerin vice president for marketing and development of accessories, a new post.
Guerin, 47, started Monday. He joined Balmain from LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, where he held various posts, including being responsible for new development at the fashion and leather goods division. From 1997, he was international sales director of Loewe.
Prior to LVMH, Guerin spent 10 years at Cartier, where he was managing director of Cartier France and left as director of international operations for Cartier International. Before entering the luxury goods industry, Guerin worked at French bank Paribas and Andersen Consulting.
