NORDSTROM’S PROPRIETARY CARD HAS NEW LOOK, NEW FEATURES
SEATTLE — Nordstrom, through its Nordstrom FSB thrift subsidiary in Scottsdale, Ariz., has begun issuing proprietary credit cards with a new design and enhanced benefits, including a reward program for all credit customers regardless of how much they spend.
Also, the cards will enable consumers to get cash advances at ATMs displaying the PLUS¿ symbol next month and Nordstrom stores are installing ATMs. Many customers will be offered lower interest rates.
Designer Jennifer Morla designed the cards which have a full-faced hologram created by American Bank Note Holographics.
Nordstrom offers the Nordstrom Retail, Nordstrom Legacy, Nordstrom Platinum and Nordstrom Platinum Legacy credit cards.
Over the past few years, Nordstrom has offered a points-based reward program to Nordstrom Visa cardholders and has extended that benefit to Nordstrom Retail card holders.
For each net dollar spent, customers earn points redeemable for certificates that can be used to help pay for any merchandise or service at any Nordstrom.
New Nordstrom card customers and those not yet qualifying for Legacy, Platinum or Platinum Legacy status will receive the Nordstrom Retail Card.
All Nordstrom Retail card customers earn points for dollars spent and 500 bonus points the first time the card is used.
Existing Nordstrom card holders are getting bonus points based on their years holding the card.
Other benefits for Nordstrom card customers include special finance options such as deferred billing, free return shipping on purchases at Nordstrom.com, and advanced notice of sales.
