ADIDAS PICKS A LILLY: Kristine Lilly will be serving up some expert advice about sports and fitness when Adidas launches a Web site Wednesday.

SALOMON RACES TO U.S.: For the first time, Salomon is holding one of the races in its X-Adventure series in the U.S.
The two-day race will be part of a three-day event that gets under way in Aspen, Col., on July 21. Four-member teams will compete in trekking, mountain bike racing, flat and white water paddling, ropes, orienteering, inline skating and possibly horseback riding, a Salomon spokeswoman said.
Salomon decided to hold a race in the U.S. since adventure racing — a sport that started in Europe — has become more popular in other countries, said Barry Siff, co-owner of Mountain Quest Adventures, the Fort Collins, Colo.-based company that is organizing the event. The Salomon race series runs throughout Europe, Japan and Scandinavia.

WESTERMAN MOVES UP: Fila USA has promoted Mark Westerman to vice president of marketing communications from director of advertising and communication.
Westerman will continue to be based at the company’s U.S. offices in Sparks, Md., and report to Jon Epstein, president and chief executive officer.
In his new role, he will work closely with TBA Worldwide-Merkley, Newman, Harty, to help develop Fila’s new global advertising company for the U.S. Westerman will also work closely with Fila Italy to work on the brand’s global ad campaign.
His new responsibilities include overseeing public relations, marketing for key accounts and the entertainment industry. Westerman has taken over some of the responsibilities handled by Howe Birch, senior vice president of sports marketing, who is now serving in a more global role at the company.
Westerman said he plans to turn over the responsibilities of his former post to several Fila executives.
