SHULER RETURNS TO YOUNKERS AS SR. VICE PRESIDENT, GMM

NEW YORK — Ken Shuler has rejoined Younkers as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of ready-to-wear.
Additionally, George Myers has joined the Des Moines-based department store as senior vice president of stores and visual merchandising.
Following experience with Marshall’s, Kohl’s and Filene’s, Shuler originally joined Younkers as divisional merchandise manager of moderate sportswear in 1994. Three years later, he moved to Herberger’s as general merchandise manager of the same classification.
Myers, a former executive with May’s L.S. Ayres division, joined McRae’s as vice president and regional director of stores in 1995 and was promoted to senior vice president of stores in 1997.
Shuler succeeds Ann Strug, and Myers succeeds Bob Daughton. Strug and Daughton have left the company.
Shuler and Myers report to Frank Kulp, president and chief executive officer of the 51-unit Younkers. Younkers, McRae’s and Herberger’s are all units of Birmingham, Ala.-based Saks Inc., which operates 350 stores under nameplates that also include Saks Fifth Avenue and Proffitt’s.
