DONEGER ADDS FORMER CLIENTS OF ATKINS OFFICE

NEW YORK — The Doneger Group buying and retail consulting company has added a wave of retailers to its client list, among them the 24-unit, $450 million Jacobson’s.
Other retailers that recently joined Doneger are The Bon Ton, Gottschalks, Swezey’s, Troutman’s Emporium and Peebles.
All these retailers were formerly members of the Frederick Atkins office. As reported, Atkins is going out of business and will close its doors for good in September.
The buying office field has experienced more than a decade of attrition. Doneger has bought many buying offices and is the only remaining major independent buying office.
Doneger has been in business for more than 53 years and serves domestic and international retailers, advising them on trends, merchandising concepts, key items, sourcing, pricing and other issues.
