NEW YORK — Former Anne Klein marketing executive Laura Wenke has joined cashmere and sportswear firm Tse as senior vice president of marketing and communications, a new post.
Wenke assumes some of the duties handled by Rebecca Shafer, who left as Tse’s creative director last month to pursue an Internet venture, as reported. Wenke reports to Joanne Casa, Tse’s executive vice president.
Wenke has assembled an in-house marketing team, bringing some of her colleagues from Anne Klein, from which she resigned last month as senior vice president of marketing and communications.
Gloria McPike, previously vice president of advertising at Anne Klein, has been named Tse’s vice president of advertising. Leslie Hearne, formerly Anne Klein’s director of international and retail sales, has been named Tse’s vice president of retail operations. Francoise Vianin, previously vice president of merchandising at Anne Klein, is now vice president of merchandising and design at Tse.
Wenke had joined Anne Klein in 1997 and was responsible for advertising, public relations, retail marketing and in-store boutiques for the sportswear company. She previously had her own public relations firm and held marketing posts at Gruppo GFT, Escada and Gianni Versace.
Wenke said Tse planned to continue with its three-brand strategy: Tse for men’s and women’s knitwear and sportswear; Tse New York, a women’s designer sportswear collection by British designer Hussein Chalayan, and TseSurface, contemporary women’s knitwear and sportswear.
