NEW YORK — Nike has named Gary De Bay vice president of new business ventures, a new post, and Robert Tabb vice president of information technology.
De Bay most recently was president and chief marketing officer of EXPLOR LLC, a retail and e-commerce development company in Denver.
In his new position, De Bay is based at Nike’s corporate headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., and reports to Phil Knight, chairman and chief executive officer.
Tabb is vice president and chief information officer of CNF, a worldwide transportation company. When Tabb joins Nike Tuesday, he will oversee global information technology and will develop IT systems and networks.
Tabb will be based in Beaverton and will report to Roland Wolfram, vice president of supply chain. Tabb assumes responsibilities previously handled by Ken Harris, who left the company a year ago, a Nike spokeswoman said.
In a statement issued by the company Thursday, ceo Knight said De Bay would help establish a central focus for Nike’s new ventures.
“We’re also excited about utilizing [Tabb’s] expertise to leverage the important investments we’re making in information technology,” Knight said.
