WHAT’S CLICKING

BUYERS’ GUIDES: Elle has come out with a biannual magazine supplement linked to its Elle.com portal site. The content, written by Elle staffers, includes guides for shopping for art, finding a good doctor and buying swimsuits or vintage clothing using the Internet. The new title, called e.Elle, will be polybagged with May newsstand copies in New York and Los Angeles that go on sale Monday. e.Elle’s mission, according to the company, is to help Elle readers wade through the information overload on the Internet.
And Internet search engine Yahoo is coming out with its shoppers’ guide, called eShopper. The first issue of the quarterly will launch in June.

STUDIO 500: Luxury goods site Fashion500.com wants to give potential shoppers the best view of the merchandise, so it has built a 10,000-square-foot photo studio at 251 Park Avenue South in New York. With its state-of-the-art equipment, the e-tailer will be able to take extremely detailed photos of its merchandise and also allow virtual reality, streaming media, 360-degree reproduction and animation on the site. “Look is everything, since multimedia has replaced the ability to see, touch and feel a product,” said Jeffry Nimeroff, the new chief technology officer of the company.
Fashion500.com is slated to go live this summer.
