GRIMES APPOINTED ALLURE PUBLISHER

NEW YORK — Suzanne Grimes has been named publisher of Allure, succeeding Erica Bartman, who resigned and left the company.
Grimes, 41, had been publisher of Women’s Sports & Fitness since its founding in 1997. Before that, she was publisher of TV Guide.
Her successor at Women’s Sports & Fitness has yet to be named.
Advertising pages at Allure, a Conde Nast title, rose 0.5 percent in the first quarter of the year, with the beauty category up 6.2 percent. For the second half of 1999, Allure’s newsstand sales were off 5 percent, but subscriptions rose 6 percent.
