NIKE, ADIDAS SUE WAL-MART

NEW YORK — Adidas America Inc. and Nike have filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., charging the discounter with selling counterfeit T-shirts in its Sam’s Club stores.
Two Adidas affiliates, Adidas-Salomon AG of Germany and Adidas International BV of the Netherlands, are also parties to the suit, Adidas said on Wednesday. The latest suit follows other lawsuits — filed by Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren, Nautica and Fubu — against Wal-Mart involving counterfeiting issues.
Officials at Wal-Mart could not be reached for comment.
