NEW YORK — Amy Bergman Bonomi, who is senior trade promotions officer of textiles at the Italian Trade Commission, will become show manager of the International Fashion Fabric Exhibition on June 1, held semiannually at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.
At the ITC, Bonomi directed textile marketing and advertising to American designers, buyers and press.
She also developed, produced and oversaw Texitalia and Texitalia Club, a trade show series for established Italian textile mills in the U.S.
Bonomi recently organized the participation of Italian companies at MAGIC International and the Los Angeles International Textile Show. She was responsible for implementing and monitoring the $1.5 million Italian textile promotional campaign, as well as initiating and developing cooperative projects with French, Spanish, Austrian and Portuguese trade officers.
As part of MAGIC International’s acquisition of IFFE, show organizers are looking to increase the number of foreign exhibitors at the show.
“The International Fashion Fabric Exhibition can only benefit from Amy’s vast international experience and insight into the industry,” said Joe Loggia, president of MAGIC International, which produces the textile event.
