New York’s young social crowd has started going to Church. Eliza Bolen, Julie Frist, Alexandra Shiva, Charlie Ruger and Stephan de Kwiatkowski trooped through the rain Wednesday night to the Berry-Hill gallery to view an exhibition of works by Hudson School painter Frederic Church on the 100th anniversary of his death. The group, and Rena Sindi, Cecily Brown, Marjorie Gubelmann, Kadee Robbins, Bettina Zilkha and Nathalie Kaplan, have made historical preservation their latest cause — raising money to restore Church’s turn-of-the-century house along the Hudson River, a Moorish-inspired pile called Olana.
