BEAUTY.COM BUZZ: Heidi Manheimer has been named vice president of merchandising for beauty.com. Manheimer, best known for having helped build the beauty business at Barneys New York as vice president and divisional merchandise manager, was most recently vice president of strategy at bluemercury.com.
Senior vice president of merchandising Michelle Williams and senior vice president of business development Paul Woods have left beauty.com. Williams has launched a consulting firm called E-tail Strategies Inc. Woods could not be reached for comment

KRANTZ TO VIVIANLIVES: Sherry Krantz has resigned as public relations director for DKNY Jeans, Active and Juniors to become chief executive officer of Forever After Inc., owner of the Vivianlives.com Web site that she created and launched last December. Krantz said she will continue to consult with Liz Claiborne Inc. on its DKNY brands .
Vivianlives.com chronicles the life of a 24-year-old female cartoon character living in Manhattan and lets Web browsers check out her apartment. A shopping component is coming soon.

APPOINTMENT BOOK: InStyle.com, the magazine’s e-tail Web site, is looking for merchandise in one of the most traditional retail methods — open door go-sees. Vendors who make an appointment on the first and third Thursdays of the month, starting next month can get a 20-minute appointment with the magazine’s merchandising editors to look over the line, and possibly be sold on the site, when it launches later this year.

LANCOME ONLINE: Lancome makeup artist Fred Farrugia deftly fielded questions from fans during a three-hour chat on the company’s site, Lancome.com.
One groupie pretended to be the Pope; another said she copied the “Pollen” theme of Farrugia’s most recent makeup collection at her wedding. Most asked for beauty advice, and Farrugia answered every one of the 178 questions.
In other Lancome.com news, Sarah Williams, formerly of jasmin.com, has been named vice president of interactive marketing for Lancome. Williams will be responsible for the content, advertising and promotional programs related to lancome.com.
