NEW YORK — Joan & David Helpern Inc. will close its Joan & David store at 104 Fifth Avenue here following completion of a final clearance sale.
The footwear and apparel firm, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 9, will shutter seven other retail stores and four outlets as part of its reorganization plan.
The other stores are located in Dallas; San Francisco; Hackensack, N.J.; Milburn, N.J.; Northbrook, Ill., and Stamford and Westport, Conn. Three of the outlets are located in California and the fourth in Florida.
Inventory clearance sales, which began on Friday, are being conducted by Garcel Inc., which does business as Great American Asset Management.
