PARIS — Siegmund Rudigier has been appointed group sales and marketing director for Wolford Worldwide and will be based in the firm’s corporate headquarters in Bregenz, Austria.
In this position, Rudigier said his mission was to create double-digit sales growth in all markets. He plans to do this by expanding in the U.S., Asia and the Middle East and continuing to develop retail business in Europe through Wolford’s wholly owned stores and franchised shops, and with department and specialty stores. He said his goal was to create and nurture a more coherent brand image worldwide.
Rudigier’s responsibilities had been split between Volker Scheienost, group sales director, and Elvira Boeschgens, marketing manager for Wolford, both of whom have left the company. A new marketing manager will be appointed later and will report to Rudigier instead of directly to the board.
Rudigier joined Wolford in 1997 as managing director of Wolford Deutschland, the company’s German subsidiary. In a statement, Wolford credited Rudigier for launching Wolford in Germany on the path of selective distribution, reducing the number of its retail partners from 1,800 to 1,150 in just three years and, at the same time, generating an increase in sales.
Prior to joining Wolford, Rudigier was a consultant at McKinsey & Co. in Dusseldorf. Before that, he worked for Johnson & Johnson in marketing and distribution.
