CFDA NAMES GALA PERFORMERS

NEW YORK — If the nominees for this year’s American Fashion Awards aren’t yelling out, “Say my name” by the end of the night, well, at least the after-party entertainers will be.
R&B artists Destiny’s Child, whose recent hit, “Say My Name,” topped the record charts, have signed to perform after the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America awards ceremony on June 15 at Lincoln Center. Deejay Mark Ronson will also spin at the event, which will be staged on the center’s promenade outside Avery Fisher Hall.
Invitations for the ceremony will go out this week to 2,700 guests. The CFDA announced nominees for the awards last month. Among them are Helmut Lang, Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta for women’s wear, but the organization will not reveal winners until the event.
They will be selected by CFDA committee members, who will receive voting packets by May 22, the organization said.
