Coloring kits continue to lead growth in the hair care category. Sales for the year ended April 23 are up 9.4 percent to $1.3 billion. The shampoo business is also healthy, with a 4.6 percent gain to $1.7 billion, while conditioners edged up 2.1 percent to $987 million.
