NEW YORK — Robert B. Chavez has been named president of the French beauty and accessories firm Frederic Fekkai & Co.
Chavez, who starts at Fekkai today, assumes the duties previously handled by Michelle Taylor, who left last November for a post at Lancome. Taylor’s title, however, was senior vice president and general manager.
Chavez reports to Frederic Fekkai, chairman, and will oversee its beauty, accessories and salon divisions.
Chavez brings experience in beauty and accessories to Fekkai. He was for eight years chief executive officer of Etienne Aigner, the leather goods and footwear firm. His resume also includes a six-year stint at Macy’s East, where he rose to president of merchandising, overseeing cosmetics, fragrances, accessories and footwear.
Chavez also spent nine years at Bloomingdale’s as a divisional merchandising manager for cosmetics and fragrances.
