NEW YORK — Sharen Jester Turney has been named president and chief executive officer of Victoria’s Secret Catalogue and president of the mail order businesses Intimate Brands Direct and Limited Direct.
Turney, who had been president and ceo of Neiman Marcus’s mail order and e-commerce business, NM Direct, will report to Leslie Wexner, chairman and ceo of The Limited Inc. and Intimate Brands. She will be responsible for the mail order and e-commerce businesses at Intimate Brands.
The catalog business has been weak, particularly against the robust performances of both Victoria’s Secret stores and Bath & Body Works. Profits at the catalog businesses last year inched ahead 2.3 percent to $8.8 million as sales advanced 5.2 percent to $799 million.
IBI’s retail businesses increased profits by 18.4 percent to $825.5 million, and sales grew by 18.7 percent to $3.8 million.
Turney will work out of the company’s offices in Columbus, Ohio, and Manhattan.
She succeeds Cindy Fields, who had been head of the Victoria’s Secret Catalogue division since 1985.
