PARIS — Regine has been famous for its jetset clientele for several decades, so the club made a perfect venue for the presentation of Karl Lagerfeld’s cruise collection for Chanel here, which was a felicitous mix of old and new elements. There were shiny tweed suits with long jackets, shown with blouses that featured ruffled pleated collars; gold lame miniskirts and HotPants; teeny bikinis, and romantic satin dresses in computerized floral prints. Lagerfeld also revived the shirtdress this season, which he likes in haberdashery striped cottons and accessorized with embroidered beads, camellias and matching hats. His new best friend, Jeremy Scott, was there to cheer the designer on, sitting in the audience next to Carole Bouquet.
