SOCHA NAMED WWD PARIS BUREAU CHIEF
NEW YORK — Miles Socha has been named WWD’s Paris bureau chief, succeeding Sarah Raper Laurenaudie, who resigned after nine years to pursue a career in Internet-related business.
Socha joined WWD in 1997 as associate sportswear editor from Fairchild’s DNR. In January, he was promoted to deputy editor, overseeing designer and bridge and contributing regularly to the marketing/media beat.
In addition, Robert Murphy will join the Paris bureau as retail and fashion news editor, succeeding Katherine Weisman, who is taking a post as international communications director for Givenchy SA. Weisman had been with WWD for eight years.
