YSL BEAUTE’S RESTRUCTURE PLAN WILL CUT 60 JOBS
PARIS — Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, the Gucci Group’s beauty subsidiary, will do away with about 60 Paris-based jobs here as part of its long-awaited restructuring plan.
YSL Beaute includes YSL and Roger & Gallet, as well as the beauty licenses of Oscar de la Renta, Van Cleef & Arpels and Fendi.
According to a company statement, changes will include the closure of YSL’s beauty institute, a money-losing venture for the past few years. The group’s artistic department will be consolidated into one studio, and Oscar de la Renta’s French distribution will be repositioned.
The streamlining was undertaken to reposition YSL Beaute “among the world’s most creative leaders in the universe of fragrance, makeup and skin care,” according to the statement.
