BEAUTY SUI: Anna Sui has launched a site for her rapidly expanding beauty empire, done under license with Intercosmetics, the North American division of the Wella Fragrances and Cosmetics Group. Called annasuibeauty.com, it includes
tidbits of information about the designer and her inspirations, beauty tips and about 200 sku’s of her cosmetics and accessories. The site will also be the first place that Sui fans can buy the new scent, Sui Dreams, when it goes on sale this fall.

A FEW WORDS: Suzanne Colon, editor at large at Jane magazine, has been named editor in chief of bigwords.com, a San Francisco-based Web site that sells text books, CDs and fashion. The company plans to build a Web magazine for the 18- to 24-year-old set, said Colon. She begins July 31.

SHOPPERS’ AID: Independent retailers rarely have time to leave their shops, let alone turn over rocks scouting for new accessories resources. That’s the logic behind a new French Web site, Unitedshowrooms.com, which opens for business July 31 selling selections from 16 up-and-coming talents.
“Our goal is to be an intermediary between the buyers and the designers,” said Najoua Ferreol, a founder and the executive vice president of Unitedshowrooms, which hopes to offer up to 100 vendors by next year. Buyers will be able to browse through products by category, like jewelry, hats, or bags, and view photos, read descriptions of the materials and find out information about the designer and where his or her products are sold.
There is no fee for using the system, she said.
Wholesale prices range from $7 to $3,000.
