HARRY CALL STEPS DOWN AT GOODY’S
NEW YORK — Goody’s Family Clothing Inc. said late Friday afternoon that its president and chief operating officer, Harry Call, resigned. His duties will be assumed on an interim basis by Robert M. Goodfriend, chairman and chief executive officer, and Lana Cain Krauter, special assistant to the chairman. She also holds the title of president.
Goodfriend declined to provide further comment, and Call could not be reached.
Goody’s, a 300-unit regional chain based in Knoxville, Tenn., does about $1 billion in volume annually selling moderate apparel for women, men and children. It operates in 17 Southeastern and Midwest states.
Among the brands sold in the stores are Nike, Bugle Boy, Villager, Adidas, Reebok, Sag Harbor, Leslie Fay, Alfred Dunner and Lee.
