NEW YORK — Skiing, Chanel-style. What more could a downhill girl want? But the company’s new ski collection isn’t just about a pretty face. “It’s not just a ski ‘look’ we’re doing,” says Barbara Cirkva, executive vice president of Chanel’s fashion division in the U.S. “It needed to be technical, as well.” To that end, the line features protective coatings that resist water and wind, as well as linings that wick moisture. Here, a nylon jacket and pants from the collection, which will land in Chanel shops and in-store boutiques begin-
ning in October. All accessories, also by Chanel. For more on the ski scene, see pages 4 to 7.
