DONNA KARAN TAPS WORRELL FOR VP POST
NEW YORK — Rachel Rushforth Worrell is returning to Donna Karan International as vice president of design for licensed product and international jeans, the company said Friday.
Rushforth Worrell had been a designer at DKNY for eight years before joining Polo Jeans Co. as vice president of women’s design last year.
In the newly created position at Donna Karan, she reports for creative matters to Jane Chung, executive vice president of design for DKNY, and for administrative ones to Brigitte Kleine, president of international and licensing. Her primary responsibilities are to act as a liaison and to provide direction for the company’s licensed products, including DKNY Jeans, DKNY Active, juniors, kids and DKNY City, a new launch for spring focusing on women’s better career and casual sportswear from licensee Liz Claiborne Inc.
Worrell is also responsible for the design direction of DKNY men’s and women’s international jeans, which are separate from the Claiborne license and are designed in-house at Donna Karan. On those products, she will work directly with Don Witkowski, president of men’s and international jeans, and with the international jeans division.
