NEW YORK — Andrew Comley, who was women’s design director for the Calvin Klein Collection, has been named creative design director of de V&P Inc., overseeing the direction of its Adrienne Vittadini and Emanuel/Emanuel Ungaro brands.
Comley will direct the design teams for both the Adrienne Vittadini and Emanuel/Emanuel Ungaro bridge-priced brands at de V&P Inc., which was formed by Kimberly Perrone and Maura de Visscher in September.
Comley will report directly to Perrone, co-chief executive officer, on day-to-day design and product development. He will also collaborate with de Visscher, co-ceo, and Shelly Bromfield, creative design director of licensed businesses, on the development of licenses, new business, marketing and advertising, according to a statement from de V&P.
Comley was the top designer on the women’s collection at Calvin Klein, reporting to Tim Gardner, who was promoted to creative director of design at the firm in March. A spokesman for Calvin Klein said the women’s collection will continue to be designed by a team under Gardner’s and Klein’s direction.
Prior to working at Calvin Klein, Comley held senior design positions at Trussardi and Gucci and consulted at Max Mara, San Lorenzo and Vestebene.
“Having worked with a number of the industry’s most successful fashion brands, Andrew brings a high level of experience and a valuable perspective to his new position,” Perrone said.
De V&P acquired the Adrienne Vittadini business and trademarks from Marisa Christina and licensed the Emanuel/Emanuel Ungaro name from Emanuel Ungaro SA under a five-year, renewable agreement in September.
