NEW YORK — KoSa on Friday said it will seek to raise its prices on polyester filament 6 to 10 percent, effective with Sept. 1 orders.
In doing so, the Houston-based company joins rivals DuPont, Nan Ya Plastics Corp., America and Wellman Inc. in seeking the fifth round of filament increases imposed over the last 1 1/2 years.
In a statement, the company said the increase was made necessary by the “continued escalation of raw-material costs in the global polyester-filament marketplace. This move will allow KoSa to be better positioned to support its customers long term with superior products, services and new product development.
