ROBERT CHAVEZ APPOINTED CEO OF HERMES USA
NEW YORK — Robert B. Chavez was named president and chief executive officer of Hermes USA on Friday, confirming a WWD report.
Hermes International said Chavez, who joined Frederic Fekkai & Co. as president just two months ago, will become president and ceo of its U.S. division in October, succeeding Laurent E. Mommeja-Hermes.
Mommeja-Hermes, named deputy director of Hermes International for European countries except France, will report to Gilles Duval, executive vice president for marketing and sales.
“At the time Hermes starts a new life in New York City with its store at 691 Madison Avenue, we are grateful to Laurent for having made this dream possible, conducting a regular and significant growth of our American business,” said Jean-Louis Dumas-Hermes, chairman and ceo of Hermes, in a statement.
The store is expected to open sometime this year.
Chavez had also been ceo of Etienne Aigner and president of merchandisingat Macy’s East.
As reported, Chavez will be succeeded at Fekkai by Lori Perella, formerly the firm’s chief financial and administrative officer. She will be senior vice president and general manager of Frederic Fekkai & Co., a joint venture between Chanel and Frederic Fekkai.
