PARIS SHOW COVERAGE: FROM CLASSE TO GLAM
Byline: Mary Stone
PARIS — Trends at the recent accessories and jewelry shows in Paris covered lots of bases. From a return to classic styles, with fewer prints and richer, less brash colors at Premiere Classe, to glam or punk interpretations of rock-and-roll looks at Bijorhca.
Both shows ended their four-day runs at Porte de Versailles on Sept. 11. Here, a rundown on key looks.
Luxurious, fine-grain leathers and suedes, rather than fabrics, for handbags, usually in a classic, neutral color palette including sand beige, brown and black.
Scarves and wraps in still popular pashmina or fabrics with handknotted fringe or feather and silk appliques.
Eighties glam rock jewelry plated in yellow gold and crafted into scarf necklaces studded with rhinestones, or heavy gold or silver link chain necklaces or bracelets.
Androgynous punk looks in denim or leather mixed with safety pins, chains, spikes or beading.
