NEW YORK — The third annual Brad Martin Golf Invitational will be held in Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The tournament supports the Martin Scholarship Program, established in 1998, as part of the Saks Foundation. The program provides children of Saks Inc. employees with the opportunity to obtain financial aid for education and other special needs.
Prior to this year, the tournament, has provided 220 scholarships through the college level and $1 million to the fund.
Among the celebrities planning to participate next week are golf champions Greg Norman, Don Pooley and Loren Roberts, as well as baseball star George Brett and former basketball great Julius Erving.
The event is being held on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
Brad Martin is chairman and chief executive officer of Saks Inc.,which operates regional department stores and Saks Fifth Avenue.
