THE BIG TIME
What’s hot now? To find out, WWD asked accessories reps to gather their best items for spring. This season abounds with lots of big bags and bright beads. And of course, there are a few surprises thrown in. Here, a roundup.
“The bowling bag is a trend we’ve seen trickle down from the couture designers to the younger accessories designers. Walker is interpreting them in a young, urban way. Beads are geting larger, and Karibou is doing them in colors predicted to be hot for spring — lighter purples and greens. There’s also a trend of matching shoes and handbags — and Adora is capitalizing on that.”

“Top-handle shapes like the ones Tusk is doing have been extremely important for me. Ornamentation is also still strong for spring, and Parkhurst does it subtly.”
— Elayne Leshtz, showroom owner
“What’s important is both bright colors and retro styles done in fresh new ways.”
