KARAN PROMOTES PARSONS
NEW YORK — Joseph B. Parsons has been promoted to chief financial and operations officer of Donna Karan International, a new post.
He’s been with the firm since 1993, most recently as executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer.
“Consolidating the financial, administrative and operational aspects of the company under Joe will enable me to focus more on global brand direction and management,” said John D. Idol, chief executive officer of Karan.
In a related move, Jim Thomson returns to the company as senior vice president of finance, a new post, reporting to Parsons. Most recently, he was chief financial officer of Mamiye Bros. and before that was vice president of finance at Emanuel. Thomson originally joined Karan in 1994 as assistant corporate controller and rose to vice president and corporate controller, leaving in 1997.
In addition, Bob Casale, most recently assistant corporate controller, has been promoted to vice president and corporate controller. He joined the company in 1995 as director of cost accounting. He reports to Thomson.
