NEW YORK — Pam Capone has left as vice president and creative director at New Frontier, WWD has learned.
Howard Sheer, president, confirmed that Capone has left but declined to give further comments, and calls to Capone’s home were not returned.
Capone, a former partner of Chaiken & Capone, now called Chaiken, joined New Frontier in July 1999. She is credited with helping the company move into edgier looks and solidify its position as a contemporary firm. Until recently, New Frontier carried more softer dressing and was merchandised in either better or contemporary departments.
For fall, the firm has offered chunky sweaters, denim pants, leather skirts and black high-tech jackets. It also sells its products to about 600 specialty stores, and operates a signature store on Madison Avenue in New York.
