NEW YORK — WWD has learned that designer Alberta Ferretti will develop her first scent with the prestige fragrance division of Procter & Gamble.
Although best known for its mass brands, P&G is responsible for the fragrances from Helmut Lang, Hugo Boss, Herve Leger and Giorgio Beverly Hills.
“We’ve been working together on this project for some time now and are delighted at how effective this collaboration is proving,” said Mike Thompson, president of Procter & Gamble Prestige Beaute. “We are pleased to have formalized the relationship. We are really looking forward to launching a Ferretti fragrance line that will combine the strong creative talent and prestige of this world-famous fashion house with the experience, support and marketing skills we can offer.”
Massimo Ferretti, president of Aeffe, said he is also enthusiastic about the project. “Working with P&G Prestige Beaute offers us a fantastic opportunity, and we’re confident that the new fragrance line will be an outstanding success.”
Neither Thompson nor Ferretti would comment on the fragrance’s launch date or further details regarding the project.
