NYE AND FAIRCHILD SPLIT
Byline: Brian Boye
NEW YORK — Matt Nye and Stephen Fairchild have parted ways, WWD learned Thursday.
The pair shared chief executive officer and designer titles, with Nye here and Fairchild in Brussels where he resides with his family. Nye, reached at his studio, confirmed the report but declined to provide further details, including whether there would be a successor.
Fairchild, an industry veteran and the son of Fairchild Publications former editorial chairman John Fairchild, and Nye, winner of the 1999 Perry Ellis Award, joined forces in February with ambitious plans to grow the designer’s business. The company is projecting sales of $1 million this year.
