During the Eighties-infused spring collections, Dolce & Gabbana provided perhaps the biggest tribute to Madonna’s early days when they showed restyled T-shirts from her concert tours. Now the designers, who also created looks for Madonna’s “Girlie Show” tour in the Nineties, are taking a turn on the Madonna of the new millennium, creating an installation for her New York mini-concert at Roseland on Nov. 5. It’s the first time Dolce and Gabbana have taken to designing an environment, and their plans are to create a “lavish and surreal Western wonderland,” including “everything from orbiting horseshoes to gravity-defying mechanical bulls.”
